Access Statement for 178 London Road Bed & Breakfast
We aim to cater for the needs of our guests in our home-based Bed and Breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific requests please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre-Arrival
There is a bus stop opposite our front gate and there is a frequent service. The main train station is a five minute walk away. There are plenty of local taxi services and we can make a booking for you. We have a website and you can contact us by ‘phone, text, fax or email. (Details below)

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
On arrival at 178 London Road there is a side road which abuts the right-hand side of the house – Black Cut – available for parking 24 hours (one-way). No marked bays but there is ample space for all cars. We can assist guests with luggage.
Main Entrance & Reception
We are not suitable for wheelchair access at 178 London Road as there are several steps up to the front door. The front door is always locked, but on arrival guests will have a set of keys made available for entry to the house.
Public Areas – General
Stairs and landing are well lit. Flooring to hall is solid wood, covering to stairs, landing and bedrooms is short-pile carpet. The main staircase from the entry hall which serves the two double bedrooms has 13 easy rising steps with handrail. The secondary staircase which serves the single room has 15 steps which are steeper.Breakfast is taken in the main dining room – guests share the single large dining table.
Public Areas – W.C.
The guest bathroom has bath, power shower and W.C. There is a ground floor W.C. also available for guests.
Additional Information
We do not accept pets in the house.
Mobile ‘phone reception is generally good, and all the guest bedrooms have internet access.We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation. If you require assistance for evacuating please notify us – e.g. hearing impairment.Light laundry services can be undertaken.We do not provide evening meals, but are minutes away from a great variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes.
Hours of Operation
Open all year. Hours flexible to business – the B&B is our home so occupied 24 hours. Mainline telephone answered 8.00 a.m. – 10.30 p.m.
